Primary Care & Urgent Care from the comfort of your home
Quality Healthcare Without the Waiting Room
Not every healthcare concern requires an in-person visit. Sometimes, telemedicine is an option!
At Rooted Health, telemedicine makes it possible to receive personalized primary care and urgent care from wherever you are—whether that's your home, your office, or anywhere else you're comfortable having a private healthcare visit.
Through a secure virtual visit, we can evaluate your concerns, review your history and medications, discuss treatment options, order appropriate labs or testing, and create a personalized plan for what comes next.
Convenient healthcare. Personalized attention. No waiting room required.
Primary Care, Wherever You Are
Your healthcare shouldn't have to stop because you're traveling, working from home, caring for your family, or simply don't want to spend your day sitting in a waiting room.
Telemedicine allows Rooted Health to provide many primary care services virtually while maintaining the same personalized, relationship-based approach you would receive in the clinic.
Depending on your needs, a telemedicine visit may include:
Comprehensive health history and review
Evaluation of new or ongoing health concerns
Medication management
Preventive healthcare
Chronic disease management
Review of laboratory results
Ordering appropriate laboratory testing
Nutrition and lifestyle counseling
Metabolic health support
Sleep and stress discussions
Personalized treatment planning
Follow-up and ongoing care
When an in-person examination, testing, or procedure is necessary, we'll help determine the appropriate next step.
Telemedicine Urgent Care
Sometimes you need to talk to a healthcare professional about something that's bothering you—but you don't necessarily need to spend hours at an urgent care clinic.
Rooted Health offers telemedicine visits for many non-emergency urgent care concerns.
Examples may include:
Cold and flu symptoms
Cough or congestion
Sore throat
Sinus symptoms
Fever
Mild respiratory illnesses
Pink eye and other minor eye concerns
Minor skin concerns
Allergies
Mild gastrointestinal symptoms
Urinary symptoms
Medication questions
Minor illnesses and infections
Follow-up after an urgent care or emergency room visit
Other new, non-emergency concerns
Telemedicine isn't appropriate for every condition. During your visit, we'll determine whether your concern can be safely evaluated virtually or whether you need an in-person examination or higher level of care.
A Different Kind of Urgent Care
Traditional urgent care is often designed around speed and volume.
You wait. You see a provider. You receive a diagnosis or treatment. Then you're on your way.
At Rooted Health, we believe even an urgent concern deserves thoughtful care.
A telemedicine visit gives us the opportunity to:
Listen first.
We'll take the time to understand what you're experiencing rather than simply checking a box for a diagnosis.
Look at the bigger picture.
Your medications, medical history, lifestyle, and previous health concerns can all provide important context.
Create a clear plan.
You'll leave your visit knowing what we're recommending, what to watch for, and what to do next.
What Can Be Treated Through Telemedicine?
Telemedicine can be an excellent option for many concerns, but it isn't appropriate for everything.
Virtual care is generally best suited for conditions that can be evaluated through conversation and visual assessment, along with situations where an in-person physical examination is not necessary.
If your concern requires:
A hands-on physical examination
Vital signs that cannot be obtained remotely
Blood work or other diagnostic testing before treatment
Imaging
A procedure
Emergency evaluation
Immediate in-person treatment
we may recommend an in-person visit or another appropriate level of care.
If we're unable to safely evaluate or treat your concern through telemedicine, we'll tell you.
How Telemedicine Works
1. Schedule Your Visit
Choose a telemedicine appointment that works for your schedule.
You don't need to drive to the clinic or spend time in a waiting room.
2. Join From a Private Location
At the time of your appointment, you'll connect with Rooted Health through our secure telemedicine platform.
We recommend finding a quiet, private location with a reliable internet connection.
3. Talk Through Your Concerns
We'll discuss your symptoms, medical history, medications, and any other information relevant to your care.
Depending on the visit, we may also ask you to show us areas of concern through your camera or help us obtain information such as a temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, or other measurements if you have the appropriate equipment available.
4. Get a Personalized Plan
At the end of your visit, we'll discuss your assessment and recommendations.
Depending on your needs, your plan may include:
Medication
Laboratory testing
Home care recommendations
Lifestyle recommendations
Follow-up care
An in-person appointment
Referral to another healthcare professional
Urgent or emergency evaluation when appropriate
Cash-Based Telemedicine Care
Rooted Health is a cash-based primary care practice, which means you pay directly for your healthcare rather than having your visit billed through insurance.
This allows us to provide transparent pricing and focus on the care you actually need.
There are no surprise insurance bills based on what your insurance company decides to cover after your appointment.
You'll know the cost of your visit before you receive care.
Can I Use My HSA or FSA?
Yes, you can pay for your visit using a HSA or FSA.
If appropriate, Rooted Health can provide documentation for you to submit to your plan.
Because HSA and FSA eligibility is determined by your specific account and plan, we recommend confirming coverage with your HSA/FSA administrator if you have questions.
What About Insurance?
Rooted Health does not bill insurance directly.
However, depending on your insurance plan, you may be able to submit documentation from your Rooted Health visit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
When appropriate, we can provide a superbill that contains information you may need to submit to your insurance company.
Your insurance company determines whether your telemedicine visit is eligible for reimbursement and whether the expense applies toward your deductible.
If you're considering submitting a superbill, we recommend contacting your insurance company before your visit to understand your specific benefits.
Why Choose Rooted Health Telemedicine?
Skip the Waiting Room
No sitting around with a room full of sick people. No unnecessary drive across town. Connect with your provider from a comfortable, private location.
Get Care When You Need It
Telemedicine can make it easier to address a new concern before it becomes a bigger problem and can provide convenient follow-up for ongoing conditions.
Keep Your Care Personal
Virtual doesn't have to mean impersonal.
Rooted Health is built around developing a relationship with you and understanding your health beyond a single symptom or diagnosis.
Focus on the Whole Picture
Rooted Health combines primary care with an integrative and lifestyle-focused approach.
When appropriate, we'll consider factors such as:
Nutrition
Sleep
Movement
Stress
Medications
Metabolic health
Lifestyle
Preventive care
Your individual health goals
Because sometimes the most important part of healthcare isn't just treating what's happening today—it's understanding why it's happening in the first place.
Telemedicine for Ongoing Primary Care
Telemedicine doesn't have to be a one-time visit.
For established patients, virtual visits can be part of an ongoing relationship with Rooted Health.
Telemedicine may be useful for:
Follow-Up Visits
Review your progress, discuss symptoms, adjust your plan, and answer questions without needing another trip to the clinic.
Lab Review
Go over your laboratory results together and discuss what they mean for your health and next steps.
Medication Management
Review medications, discuss effectiveness and side effects, and make changes when clinically appropriate.
Lifestyle & Nutrition Care
Discuss nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, metabolic health, and the habits that support long-term health.
Chronic Condition Management
Continue monitoring and managing appropriate chronic health conditions when virtual care is clinically appropriate.
Telemedicine Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be an established patient to use telemedicine?
Telemedicine may be available for both new and established patients depending on the type of visit and your individual needs.
If you're unsure whether telemedicine is appropriate for you, contact Rooted Health before scheduling.
Can I use telemedicine for urgent care?
Yes. Rooted Health offers telemedicine for many non-emergency urgent care concerns in addition to ongoing primary care.
Can I get a prescription through telemedicine?
When clinically appropriate, prescriptions may be provided through telemedicine. Prescribing decisions are based on your symptoms, medical history, medications, clinical assessment, and applicable requirements.
A prescription is not guaranteed simply because an appointment is completed.
Can you order labs through telemedicine?
Yes. When clinically appropriate, laboratory testing can be ordered as part of a telemedicine visit.
If testing is necessary, we'll help you determine the appropriate next step for completing it.
What if you determine that I need to be seen in person?
That's okay.
If your concern can't be safely or adequately evaluated through telemedicine, we'll recommend an appropriate in-person option.
Telemedicine is not intended to replace in-person care when an examination or testing is necessary.
Can I have a telemedicine visit while traveling?
Telemedicine is subject to applicable state and federal requirements, including where you are physically located at the time of your visit.
If you will be outside Oklahoma, please contact Rooted Health before scheduling so we can determine whether we can legally provide care while you are located in that state.
Do you accept insurance for telemedicine?
Rooted Health is a cash-based practice and does not bill insurance directly.
You may be able to submit a superbill to your insurance company for potential reimbursement depending on your plan.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes, you can use HSA or FSA funds for eligible healthcare expenses. Eligibility depends on your specific account and plan rules.
Is telemedicine appropriate for emergencies?
No.
Telemedicine through Rooted Health is not a substitute for emergency medical care.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency—including severe chest pain, significant difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, loss of consciousness, signs of stroke, or another potentially life-threatening condition—call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Convenient Care. Thoughtful Medicine.
Your healthcare doesn't always need to happen inside a doctor's office.
Whether you need help with a new illness, want to discuss an ongoing health concern, need to review your labs, or simply want a more convenient way to stay connected with your primary care provider, telemedicine may be the right option.
Rooted Health brings personalized primary and urgent care to you—wherever you are.
