No Insurance?
You Still Deserve Great Healthcare
Not having health insurance shouldn't mean avoiding the doctor, putting off care, or worrying about what a simple visit is going to cost.
Whether you need care for an illness, help managing a chronic condition, medication management, preventive care, or simply a trusted provider to help you navigate your health, we're here to help.
Healthcare Without the Guesswork
Traditional healthcare can be confusing—especially when you're uninsured.
You may not know what a visit will cost until after you've received a bill. You may worry that one appointment will lead to multiple unexpected charges. And because of those concerns, it's easy to put off care until a small problem becomes a much bigger one.
At Rooted Health, we do things differently.
With cash-based care, you can expect:
Transparent pricing
No insurance required
No surprise bills weeks or months after your visit
Clear communication about the cost of your care
The ability to know what you're paying before receiving services
A relationship with a provider who can help you make informed decisions about your health
Know Your Costs Up Front
When you are paying for healthcare yourself, cost matters.
We believe you deserve to understand the expected cost of your care before making decisions.
Under federal protections, uninsured and self-pay patients can generally receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for scheduled healthcare services when care is scheduled at least three business days in advance or when an estimate is requested.
At Rooted Health, we believe transparency should be a normal part of healthcare—not something you have to request or fight to get.
Have questions about pricing? We clearly post all pricing on our website for you to see. We want you to feel comfortable understanding the cost of your care.
You Don't Have to Avoid Care Because You Don't Have Insurance
Many people without insurance delay healthcare because they're worried about the cost.
But waiting isn't always the best option.
Establishing care with a primary care provider can give you a place to turn when health concerns arise. Instead of navigating urgent care, emergency rooms, or multiple specialists on your own, you have a provider who can help evaluate your concerns and discuss the next best steps.
Sometimes that may mean treatment right in our office.
Sometimes it may mean labs, imaging, medication, lifestyle changes, or a referral to a specialist.
Our goal is to help you understand your options so you can make informed decisions about both your health and your healthcare spending.
We Help You Make Informed Decisions
Healthcare isn't one-size-fits-all.
When additional testing, imaging, medications, or referrals are needed, we believe you should understand your options.
That may include discussing:
Whether a test or treatment is necessary now
Alternative treatment options
Lower-cost medication options when clinically appropriate
Cash-pay pricing versus other available options
The expected cost of recommended services when that information is available
Whether there are financial assistance programs or other resources you may qualify for
You are an active participant in your healthcare decisions.
Our job is to give you medical guidance and help you understand your options. Your job is to decide what makes the most sense for you.
What About Labs, Imaging, and Medications?
Your office visit is only one part of your healthcare.
If you need additional services such as labs, imaging, medications, or specialty care, we can help you understand what is being recommended and discuss your options.
For services provided outside of Rooted Health, costs may vary depending on the facility, pharmacy, laboratory, and services needed. We encourage patients to ask questions and compare options when appropriate. We do our best to provide quotes during the visit so you understand the cost of our recomendations.
Being a cash-pay patient doesn't mean you have to blindly accept the first price you're quoted.
Ask questions. Understand your options. Know what you're paying for.
Rooted Health Is a Great Option If You:
Don't currently have health insurance
Have lost employer-sponsored coverage
Are self-employed
Are between jobs or waiting for new coverage to begin
Have a high-deductible health plan and sometimes choose to pay directly for care
Want a more transparent approach to healthcare costs
Are tired of avoiding healthcare because you're worried about an unexpected bill
Want a relationship with a primary care provider—not just a quick visit when you're sick
What Rooted Health Can—and Can't—Replace
Cash-based primary care can be an excellent option for routine and ongoing healthcare needs.
However, it is important to understand that primary care does not completely replace health insurance or emergency coverage.
Health insurance can still provide important protection against major medical expenses, hospitalization, surgery, emergency care, and other high-cost healthcare needs.
Healthcare Shouldn't Be a Mystery
At Rooted Health, we believe you deserve to know who is caring for you, understand your options, and have a clearer picture of what your healthcare may cost.
No insurance?
You're still welcome here.
Let's focus on what matters: helping you get the care you need in a way that is personal, transparent, and centered around you.
